HomeWise Services by Master Tech Scott · San Antonio, Texas · Last updated October 18, 2026

This is the whole deal in plain English. By using the HomeWise AI desk, buying tokens, or requesting a call, you agree to it.

1. Advice only, not a repair

Answers on this desk, from the AI or from Scott on the phone, are diagnostic guidance only. They are not a repair order, a quote, a warranty, or a substitute for an on-site diagnosis by a technician who can see, measure, and test the equipment. Cost figures are estimates and local labor changes the number.

2. Stop and call a pro

Do not attempt work that involves any of the following. Call a licensed professional:

  • Gas lines, gas valves, or gas appliances
  • Line-voltage electrical work (120V/240V wiring, panels, hardwired appliances)
  • Sealed refrigerant systems (refrigerators, freezers, AC)
  • Any work that needs a permit or a license where you live

3. Do-it-yourself is at your own risk

If you choose to do any work yourself, you do it at your own risk. Turn off power, water, and gas before you start, and stop if anything seems unsafe. HomeWise Services is not responsible for injury, damage, or loss that results from work you or someone you hire performs based on information from this desk.

4. Tokens

  • Tokens are sold in one-time packs. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
  • Tokens never expire and never convert into a subscription or recurring charge.
  • If an answer fails or comes back incomplete, you are not charged for it.
  • Once an answer is delivered, the tokens for it are spent and are not refundable.
  • Pack prices do not include sales tax. Applicable sales tax is added at checkout.
  • Payments are processed by Square. We never see or store your full card number.
  • You need to sign in with Google to ask a question, request a call, or buy tokens. New accounts get 120 free tokens, once per account.
  • Tokens live in your HomeWise account, not on your phone or browser, so they follow you to any device you sign in on. Tokens that were only on a device before accounts existed don’t carry over, except tokens from Square purchases we can verify.
  • Tokens are taken from your account when you send a question or call request. If the answer fails or the request doesn’t go through, they go back automatically.

5. Phone calls

A phone-call request is a request, not a confirmed appointment. Scott calls you back from a San Antonio number within the window you choose.

Phone consults are available anywhere. On-site visits are only offered within about 25 miles of San Antonio, Texas.

6. On-site diagnostic visit

Within the service area, an on-site diagnostic visit is $80. If you hire HomeWise Services for the repair, the $80 is credited toward the repair.

7. Privacy: what we collect and why

We collect only what we need to answer your question and call you back:

  • Your questions and the answers in your thread
  • For call requests: your name, phone number, ZIP code, and preferred call window
  • If you sign in: your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account

We use this information only to answer your question and return your call. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for advertising.

To run the desk we use a few service providers:

  • xAI processes your questions to generate answers.
  • Resend delivers call requests to our inbox by email.
  • Square processes payments.
  • Google and Grok’s sign-in service (xAI) handle sign-in. We never see your Google password.

Your question history is stored in your own browser (localStorage), not on our servers. Clearing your browser data deletes it. Your tokens are kept in your account on our servers.

Asking, call requests, and purchases require signing in. When you sign in, we store an account on our servers with your name, email address, and profile picture from Google, plus sign-in session records (when you signed in, your IP address, and your browser type) so you stay signed in. Your account also has a token wallet: we keep its balance and a record of each token grant, purchase, spend, and refund. To prevent abuse we also count how many questions each account asks per hour, and delete those counts after a day. We use your email only to identify your account and to contact you about it. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.

To prevent a purchase from being credited twice, we keep a record of each Square order number, the pack, the amount, when it was redeemed, and which account it was added to. That record contains no name, phone, or card details. Square receives your payment details under its own privacy policy.

To ask what we have about you, or to have your account and its information deleted, email [email protected].

8. The fine print

To the extent the law allows, the desk is provided as-is and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for the tokens involved. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and any dispute will be handled in Bexar County, Texas. We may update this page. The date at the top shows the latest version.
